Emails and notifications

What we send, how often, and how to switch off exactly the part you want gone.

Everything we send has a switch, and the switches are per kind rather than one on and off. Nothing here needs a reply to us and nothing needs a support ticket.

If you are here to stop something, the first section is the fastest route for each case. The rest is what we send and when.

Stopping something, fastest first

One noisy alert: the link at the bottom of that alert's own email. It switches off that alert and nothing else, works with no sign-in, and takes effect on the click.

One kind of email: your notification settings, which has a switch per kind.

All of it: the unsubscribe link in any of them, or your mail client's own unsubscribe button. Both are the same immediate opt-out.

What we send

Sign-in codes and account mail. Not switchable, because it is how you get into your account.

Receipts. A claim verified, a correction we acted on, a payment taken. Not switchable either: each one is a record of something you did or something we charged for.

Your watchlist digest. What changed on the products you watch. Weekly, or daily on a paid plan.

Your alerts. What is new in the filters you saved.

The market briefing. Monthly, on the markets you watch.

Your owner digest, if you have claimed a listing. How it is doing.

A quiet week sends nothing

If nothing happened, no email goes out. The one exception is the monthly market briefing, which is a periodical rather than a notification and is worth having even when the answer is that the market held still.

The bell is a separate channel

Everything the digests carry also lands in the bell and at your inbox, as it happens rather than on a schedule.

The two are independent on purpose. Unsubscribing from an email switches off email and nothing else, so "stop mailing me, I will check the site" is a thing you can actually do.

Nothing arrives at all

Check the spam folder first, then that the address on your account is the one you meant. If it is still nothing, tell us and include the address.

Still stuck? Send us a message and a person will read it.
